Certification Levels

The three certification levels within AIMBI are: Registered Biomedical Illustrator (RBI) Associate of AIMBI (AAIMBI) Fellow of AIMBI (FAIMBI). The certification panel usually meets every two years in conjunction with AIMBI national conference.  

Registered Biomedical Illustrator

Financial Practising members can submit a portfolio of work, which is judged by an expert panel at a Biennial Conference. The RBI program is aimed at establishing a minimum professional standard in our field. Successful candidates are entitled to use the letters R.B.I. after their name.

Please check with your local R&E Board member for details of delivery of your portfolio and supporting information.  

Associate

A member is judged to be an associate member of AIMBI after submission and scrutiny of details of educational, management and personal development within the field. The letters A.A.I.M.B.I. after a person's name signifies they have attained a professional level of competence in their biomedical communication career.

For submission of your application send a pdf of your documentation to the R&E chair.  Please retain originals for verification.  Copies will be circulated to all R&E members.  

Fellowship

The letter F.A.I.M.B.I. after a member's name is recognition of excellence in biomedical communication, illustration or education.
