National AIMBI AGM

  • The 2011 Australian Institute of Medical and Biological Illustration, National Annual General Meeting was held at the Biennial National Conference, Greenmount Beach Resort, Coolangatta on Friday 19th August.

Please find attached the agenda for the 2011 AGM.

This conference will bring together photographers, illustrators, videographers, 3D artists and web designers who work in the bio-medical arena.

The focus will be not only on the excellence in the traditional tools of our trade but look at innovative approaches. There will also be a sessions on great work flows to deliver more efficient and secure services to our clients.

AIMBI AWARDS 2011 are now OPEN!

Bioscience Imagers and artists are invited to enter the AIMBI Awards Exhibition Competition for 2011.

The AIMBI Awards Exhibition is an opportunity for members to win GOLD, SLIVER or BRONZE awards for your work and have your work exhibited at the Professional Exhibition at the Biennial National Conference (BNC). AIMBI Biennial Conference, Coolangatta, Evolving Bioscience Imaging Conference, 18th -21st August, 2011, http://www.aimbi2011.net

The Professional Exhibition is held in conjunction with the BNC and will display any entry that comes up to a professional standard. Entries can include; Clinical & Non Clinical Photography, Ophthalmic Photography, Graphic Design, Medical Art, Posters, Video, Animation, 3D and Web design including Educational or Public Relations work that has been undertaken for Medical, Biological, Scientific purposes.

All entries will be judged on their professional standards and will be in the chance to win an award. It is at the discretion of the judging panel to decide how many awards to present.

  • 22nd - 24th September 2011, 6th Quadrennial International Conference on Ophthalmic Photography

Venue: Examination Schools, Oxford, UK

 

The organisers have drafted out a block schedule for the meeting which includes 14.5 hrs of scientific content in 6 sessions across the 3 day period.

The meeting is to be held in the historic University City of Oxford. Oxford is 45 miles (74 km) to the west of London and is served by multiple hourly buses and coaches direct from London centre and London’s main airports Heathrow and Gatwick. Excellent train services and major roads also connect Oxford to London, Birmingham (International Airport -67miles), Stratford-upon-Avon (45 miles) and the local beautiful Cotswolds region.

  • The Institute of Medical Illustrators 43rd Annual Conference

Crewe Hall Hotel, Crewe, Cheshire 23rd to the 25th September 2010

The 43rd IMI Annual Conference will be held at the Crewe Hall Hotel, which is an impressive stately home with ultra-modern conference facilities. This grade I listed building has leisure and spa facilities, plentiful car parking and is situated just off of the M6. Crewe train station is approximately 2 miles away and Manchester and Liverpool airports are within easy reach.

The conference theme; “Fit for the Future”, challenges the development of our roles, and skills in an ever changing healthcare environment. You are invited to share your ideas, experiences and research that contribute to the future of our profession. This may be through a presentation in the scientific programme, or through a workshop. The scientific programme will be timetabled for Thursday and Saturday. Friday will feature a full day of workshops and the trade exhibition. If you have never spoken at an IMI conference you are invited to present a short presentation in the ‘New Voices’ session on Thursday.

  • 15th – 16th October 2010, Recent Advances in Medical Photography Conference - AIMBI Event

Venue: The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, Sydney, NSW, Australia

Audience
This conference will be relevant to photographers, videographers and graphic artists that have an interest in medical and biological subjects.

Day 1 of the conference will be open to medical staff of The Children’s Hospital at Westmead. This is an excellent opportunity to facilitate effective interaction between healthcare professionals on issues pertaining to medical photographic imaging and recording.

Exhibition / Photographic Competition
Attendees are invited to submit photographs (digital files) for peer judging.
Categories are:
Scientific/ Medical -open to delegates only
Portraiture: theme ‘Happy Kids’ –open delegates and hospital staff
